Your Initial Consultation

Your first step is to call our office and set up a consultation meeting. Consultations are a great opportunity for you to meet our dentist and get to know him better. Our dentist can talk to you about the different procedures that are offered and how you can benefit from them.

New Patient Paperwork

If you are satisfied with our dentist after the first meeting, our team will assist in setting up an appointment for you. Before the appointment, you will be required to fill out new patient form along with providing your dental history and records. It is suggested that you come in at least 20 minutes before your scheduled appointment to make sure that you have plenty of time to fill these forms.

This paperwork mostly comes in two categories, which must be properly completed. The first one requires your personal details. In this form, you have to fill in personal information such as your name, age, marital status, income range, home address, etc. You will also be required to complete a medical history form. In this form, you must provide complete information regarding your past medical treatments, dental problems and details about dental insurance coverage, policy and provider.

It is important for you to be precise in answering all the questions as any wrong answer could impact your future treatment.

Our office also provides patients with the choice of filling the forms before coming to the clinic. This means that you can visit our website and fill out the enrollment form online. This saves you time and ensures you a hassle-free appointment scheduling and an efficient and effective visit. Patients can download health history forms, using the following link https://dentalcode.net/forms/newpatientform.pdf from our website and fill in all the required details. This information would be stored in our database and will be evaluated prior to your session.

The Exam

After studying dental health history, our dentist will most likely examine your gums, teeth, and mouth. This procedure is known as a comprehensive exam and is performed to study the state of your dental health and hygiene. An important part of the comprehensive exam is the cleaning. The teeth and mouth are thoroughly cleaned before moving onto the x-rays so that there are no extra particles in your mouth at that time.

Our dentist will carefully look for any sensitivity, decay, and redness around the gums and teeth during the examination, and explain the procedure to you, accordingly. Even though our dentist will have already studied your medical and dental history from the forms you filled, he might still ask you questions about your teeth while examining them. This is fairly common in the case our dentist sees anything unusual or something which was not mentioned in the forms.

X-Ray

Once the comprehensive examination is completed, our dentist takes an X-ray of your mouth, which will give a clear picture of the condition of your teeth and jaw. These scans are taken to better analyze oral disruptions, diseases and cavities. The panoramic radiographs are the most common types of dental X-rays as they provide our dentist a much detailed view of the teeth and jaw. Our dentist is able to spot any impacted teeth or jaw fractures easily with the panoramic X-ray.

Although believed to be a long process, X-rays usually don’t take more than a few minutes and are completely safe. The X-rays are a safe procedure for the patient.  Our dentist will guide you through a straightforward process by asking you to bite down on gauze, while the rest of the body is protected from the X-ray machine with a device that will cover it. Only the mouth will be scanned by the machine.

Post-Exam Discussion

After the dental exam, our dentist will discuss your results with you. Our dentist will guide you through any of the irregularities or decay that he may have found in your mouth. He may also mention the various treatment options that are offered at our clinic. Our dentist will suggest and explain to you the most appropriate and detailed treatment plan for your specific needs and will customize it to fit your requirements.

In addition, you will receive the total cost of the particular procedure and can discuss the payment plan accordingly.

Our main goal is to help you maintain good oral health and solve all of your dental issues.
